This is that time of a month when I am doing the schedule for the next month. And ths is when I always get confused… It would be SOOOO MUCH Simpler if we just had every month 4 weeks each!!! I think it’s about time Amerika changes that damned calendar to simplify the process. Why one month has 5 weeks and the other 4? Now all my dates a screwed up again: if a client was on every 4 week schedule, that means he’ll have 2 visits this month: the first Monday and the last. And the first Monday of a month does not mean that it’s on the first week of a month…

I think Obama should start thinking about that too… So instead of confusing 31 day 5 weeks months we should just have normal 28 day months, EACH AND EVERY MONTH! Yes, that would mean either extending a year by another month. Let’s call it ” Vacationary”. And it will be a paid off vacation month! It will be right after Decemeber, before January.

Or we just move forward faster than the rest of the world, by having 28 days months, 12 months each year. We will be at leaast 1 week ahead of the rest of the world. We are anyways…

I know that means there will be more people to hate America. But China and India have their own calendars don’t they?

I received the dumbest telemarketing call (so far) for today at my office. A girl with very tired voice from heavy partying last night called and asked for “Iona” (/”ai-oo-na”/). When I said that would be me (ignoring the fact that my first name was mispronounced again) the Girl with Tired Voice started axcious introduction of what is her company doing. I understood they were offering “to build the website” as their company “building website for big corporations (I am already ‘impressed”!) and small businesses as well (“Oh, thanks for such a favour”!). She also explained that she got my phone number “from John at UA Auto Transport” (interesting to learn that there is a “John” at my husband’s company who is referring website-building people to me now)…The point is WE DO HAVE A WEBSITE. A nice professionally built one.

I was completely annoyed. I am usually very patient with telemarketing people. It’s a tough job. I always give them a chance to finish their script, and even give them a minute or two politely explaining why I won’t be in need of their such valuable services ever. I never hung up on them before saying “thank you” and “good by”. What really annoyed me today is that: if you really want to be good about something, and your job is cold calling people during their busy day schedule: at least make an effort to find out WHAT THIS COMPANY DOES, and if you selling the website building services: LEARN IF THAT COMPANY HAS A WEBSITE or not (of course if you are selling website building services)

I could not help it, I was rude to that chick. I said the same thing to her. Her answer… “you probably did not understand-I GOT YOUR NUMBER FROM JOHN at UA Auto transport. Our company builds websites… (bla-bla-bla)”. The next line killed me “BY THE WAY: WHAT DOES YOUR COMPANY DO?”

“Why don’t you call John from AU AUTO Transport and ask him, darling?” I said.

This time I hung up without saying “Thank you” and “Good By”
